For Swiggy, the expansion marked a major scaleup of an experiment it launched a few months ago to boost growth in its food delivery segment — which accounts for two-thirds of its gross order value (GOV).
The company’s GOV from food delivery grew 14% on year to Rs 7,191 crore.
Cities in states such as Andhra Pradesh and Telangana witnessed the highest adoption for Bolt, followed by Haryana, Tamil Nadu, Gujarat, West Bengal, Rajasthan and Punjab, the company said in a statement Monday.
In its first phase, Bolt was made available in Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, New Delhi, Mumbai and Pune.
