Sachdeva will lead the strategic and financial initiatives at the edtech company. He was previously CFO at Grofers (now Blinkit) till August 2022, when it was acquired by food delivery platform Zomato. He has held leadership roles at IGT Solutions and Wipro as well.
“Amit’s experience in financial leadership and his focus on robust corporate governance will be invaluable as we continue our efforts to grow and broaden our educational impact,” Alakh Pandey, CEO of PhysicsWallah, said in a statement.
Sachdeva’s appointment comes as the company prepares to go public.
ET reported last week the Noida-based company’s operating revenue grew by a significant 160% to Rs 1,940 crore in FY24, from Rs 744 crore in FY23. Its consolidated net loss ballooned by nearly 13.5x to Rs 1,131 crore from Rs 84 crore a year ago due to a higher wage bill.
