Paytm denies receiving ED notice over crypto scam as stock falls 9%

Fintech major Paytm on Friday denied receiving any new notices from the Enforcement Directorate regarding a cryptocurrency scam, as per media reports.

“We confirm that we have not received any such new notice, communication, or query from the Enforcement Directorate regarding the matter mentioned in the media articles. The information published is factually incorrect and misleading and we had not received any query from the media prior to the publishing of this news article,” the company said in an exchange filing.

Shares of One97 Communications, which operates the payments platform Paytm, fell by up to 9% to a day’s low of Rs 773.90 on Friday after the report emerged.
