“We are taking our first step towards solving the problem of providing quick and reliable ambulance service in our cities. The first five ambulances will be on the road in Gurugram starting today,” Dhindsa wrote in a post on microblogging site X on Thursday.
Consumers could request an ambulance through the Blinkit app. The platform plans to expand this service to all major cities within the next two years.
Zomato founder Deepinder Goyal praised Dhindsa and team. “This is a first in the world. Congratulations @albinder and team for thinking of societal impact, and making things come true with record speed. So much more can happen in “quick” and I truly believe that this is just a start,” his post read.
“This is a much needed and important service. Cheering for you and team to bring impact,” Dilip Kumar of Rainmatter said on X. “Ambulance services in India aren’t a technology problem or even a logistics problem. They’re a coordination and trust problem,” he added.

Snapdeal cofounder Kunal Bahl also joined in. “Finally, the most critical 10-min delivery we absolutely needed. An ambulance.”
The new service from Blinkit comes at a time when quick-commerce platforms are trying to broaden their offerings.
Apart from the sale of groceries and other consumer goods, Blinkit had earlier launched services such as deliveries of printouts and passport-size photographs.
