YouTube has announced it will be expanding its AI-powered auto dubbing feature. A blog posted by the platform said that the tool will be made available to “hundreds of thousands of channels in the YouTube Partner Program focused on knowledge and information.”

The tool will also be released further to other types of content “soon,” YouTube said.

English language videos of creators can be dubbed into French, German, Hindi, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Portuguese or Spanish. Alternatively, if the video is in any of these languages, it can only be dubbed in English.

Creators can also preview the dubbed video before it goes online. YouTube also gives creators the option to delete or unpublish videos.

The dubbed videos can be watched under the “languages” section in YouTube Studio and have an auto-dubbed label on them.

The blog also shared some examples of the dubbing, with a note saying that the dubs would get more natural sounding with time.

For now, the dubbed videos were also just for the narration and not for people talking in the videos.
