– The Australian Information Commissioner said on Tuesday it has withdrawn civil penalty proceedings against Meta Platforms that it had brought in 2020 after a A$50 million ($31.85 million) settlement by the Facebook parent.

The Commissioner had alleged that personal information of some users were being disclosed to Facebook’s personality quiz app, This is Your Digital Life, as part of the broader Facebook-Cambridge Analytica data scandal.
